Cyclone Destroys Tens of Homes in Denpasar

At least 80 homes in Denpasar, Bali, were damaged by a tropical cyclone, also known as ‘puting beliung‘, that hit the city at around 2:00 p.m. local time. The Denpasar Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) said on Wednesday that ten out of these 80 were severely damaged.

Protecting Whales in the Savu Sea

A humpback whale calf bravely swam around a survey ship owned by The Nature Conservancy (TNC) in the waters of the Savu Sea, East Nusa Tenggara, during the beginning of this month. Its mother could be seen spewing water from her back for a brief moment, then diving back into the waters.
